2015 Black365 Knowledge Bowl

Pearland is excited to invite you all to the 2015 Black365 Knowledge Bowl. This yearly event hosted by Jamaal Brown and the Black365 brand is a jeopardy-style competition held in the Antelope Valley (California) challenging local students to a host of world history questions. This is our first time being able to participate with Jamaal after it’s many years of continued success. (Read about it here: LA Times, AV Times).

We had the privilege of redesigning the event logo and creating some of the soft and hard marketing promotional materials for the Bowl. (See photos below) Creatively we attempted to symbolize the prestige and scholastic focus the event promotes.

The Knowledge Bowl is the capstone to each Black365 Black Facts Calendar yearly sales calendar. The physical wall calendar which features a unique and interesting black history fact for every day of the year sees it’s largest sales curve from November until April. Understandably for a date-sensitive product, sales usually taper-off mid year which is when Jamaal and crew prepare for next year’s calendar. Each Bowl is made possible almost entirely out of Black365’s pockets and the help of sponsors, with little to nothing earned at the end. The contest is a wonderful event for the community as students are intellectually challenged, the community roots them on and scholarships are awarded to those who make it until the end!
